Plastic Pollution is emerging as a top threat to ocean ecosystems. According to research done, by 2025 there could be 1 ton of plastic for every 3 tons of fish in the ocean. Therefore to make a stop to this menace, us Leos of Polgasowita along with Leo Club of kesbewa, Baddegama, Uragasmanhandiya, Richmond college, Matara Nilwala and Leo club of Rahula College united in cleaning 3 major coastal areas in Sri Lanka including the beaches of Mt.Lavinia, Hikkaduwa and Matara on the 15th of February. Leos of Kesbewa and Polgasowita joined the cause from Mt. Lavinia Beach, Leos of Baddegama, Uragasmanhandiya and Richmond College were incharge of the Hikkaduwa beach while Leo Clubs of Matara Nilwala and Rahula College preceded their process in Matara beach.
